I’m getting so hyped for Ninja Gaiden 4! The developers, Team NINJA, have been dropping little bits of gameplay footage for weeks, and recently they showed off a new trailer. What really got me excited was seeing the game played on Master Ninja difficulty – it looks incredibly challenging and fast-paced, exactly what I want from a Ninja Gaiden game!
Ninja Gaiden games are famous for being incredibly challenging. After a long break of over ten years, fans were concerned that the latest installment might be easier than previous games.
Luckily, that doesn’t appear to be true. The new gameplay trailer showed the hardest difficulty setting, and it genuinely seemed much more challenging than in past games.
Master Ninja difficulty throws everything at Yakumo at once, from all sides! This creates fast-paced, non-stop action where you need to be aware of your surroundings to survive. It’s incredibly exciting and intense, and even a small error can lead to defeat.
The team at NINJA has released a three-minute gameplay video, which you can watch below.

What to Expect from Ninja Gaiden 4’s Difficulty
The game is definitely challenging, but what about players who aren’t experts? Thankfully, Team NINJA has included several difficulty settings, like Hero, Normal, and Hard, so everyone can enjoy it.
Plus, the game lets you customize your experience with a variety of options. You can change things like auto-dodging, blocking, the amount of help you receive, and how your character moves. You can even adjust these settings mid-game, except when playing as the Master Ninja.
What’s really neat is the game now includes a training mode – something new for this series! You can practice as much as you like, helping you build the skills needed to conquer the game on its hardest setting.
The Master Ninja difficulty is extremely challenging, designed for dedicated players seeking a real test of skill. However, we believe anyone can try it! It’s unforgiving, constant, and incredibly difficult – exactly what our most passionate fans wanted.
Ultimately, the new adjustable difficulty settings in Ninja Gaiden 4 could end up making it the most accessible *and* the most challenging game in the entire series.
Ninja Gaiden 4 releases on October 21 across Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation.
