Okay, so this is super frustrating. A game I was really looking forward to on Switch (or the new Switch 2, if it ever comes out!) just got delayed… on launch day! Game delays are pretty normal now, honestly – it feels like every big title gets pushed back at least a little bit. But usually, we find out weeks or months in advance. This is different – a last-minute delay is just… weird. It’s a really strange situation, and I’m honestly a little annoyed.
Crystal Dynamics released Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered this week. The remastered version of the 2003 game was announced just last month and initially scheduled to launch on March 3rd. It’s now available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, but the Switch and Switch 2 versions have been unexpectedly delayed. As of today, there’s no new date for when players on those platforms can expect the game.
What’s the Reason for This Nintendo Delay?
It’s odd that Crystal Dynamics hasn’t explained the delay of Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered on Nintendo Switch. They’ve only stated the game will be released at a later date and promised to share updates when available.
Crystal Dynamics announced that the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 versions of the game have been postponed and will be released at a future date. They encourage players to follow their social media accounts for the latest information.
Okay, so I was wondering why Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered took a bit to show up on the Switch after it was announced. It seems like it probably just took longer for Nintendo to approve it. Apparently, all games have to go through this certification process for whatever console they’re on, and sometimes it’s a quicker process for some systems than others. It’s a bit of a pain, but it’s good they check everything before we can play!
If that’s not the reason, Crystal Dynamics may have found some problems with the Switch version of Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered and wanted to fix them before release. Hopefully, the delay won’t be long, and we’ll hear an update soon.
