There’s growing buzz that Netflix might be renewing its popular One Piece series for another season, though Netflix hasn’t officially confirmed it yet. It looks like the live-action adaptation could be continuing its story.
Netflix’s One Piece is rumored to be ‘close to a Season 4 renewal’
Okay, so I’m seeing some amazing news about the Netflix live-action One Piece! A reliable source, MyTimeToShineHello, posted on X that we’re not only getting Season 3 – filming is supposedly starting soon – but they’re already close to renewing the show for Season 4! Everyone’s going wild about it online, and honestly, I couldn’t be happier! It’s great to see the show doing so well.
As a huge One Piece fan, I was thrilled to hear Netflix officially confirmed Season 3 is happening, slated for August 2025! They dropped the news along with a sneak peek at Season 2, now called ‘One Piece: Into the Grand Line.’ Even better, they’re already planning ahead – production on Season 3 will kick off later this year, and this time they’re filming in Cape Town, South Africa. It’s also exciting to learn that Ian Stokes is joining Joe Tracz as a co-showrunner, executive producer, and writer – a great team to bring this story to life!
Netflix’s live-action series, based on Eiichiro Oda’s popular manga, launched in August 2023 and quickly became a huge success. It remained in the Global Top 10 for eight weeks and reached number one in 46 countries. Filming for Season 2 wrapped up in February 2025 after taking place in South Africa, and it will cover story arcs like Loguetown, Drum Island, and Little Garden.
Matt Owens, a showrunner for the series, previously mentioned that Season 2 will focus on Luffy learning to be a leader. Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece, is still heavily involved in developing the show, including writing and choosing actors. While Netflix hasn’t officially announced a Season 4 yet, sources suggest they are hopeful to continue the story of the Straw Hat Pirates after the Arabasta arc.
