When Palworld first launched, it generated both excitement and debate. Now, after two years, the game has proven its staying power and is gearing up for a full release. But the developers aren’t stopping there – they’re creating a new game that will once again draw comparisons to Pokémon.
At the Bushiroad English Conference Winter 2026, Bushiroad announced a new trading card game based on the popular video game Palworld. Called the Palworld Official Card Game, it expands the Palworld franchise into the trading card game market, a space currently dominated by Pokémon. It will be fascinating to see how this new game compares to the Pokémon Trading Card Game when it’s released.
Palworld is coming to the world of card games! Palworld: Official Card Game is a competitive two-player game where you’ll battle with your Pals, gather resources, and build bases. Each Pal has special abilities and characteristics you’ll need to use strategically. Bushiroad hasn’t shown much of the gameplay yet, but the game is scheduled to release worldwide on Thursday, July 30th. We can expect to see more details and previews of the cards leading up to the launch.
The Palworld: Official Trading Card Game Enters a Crowded TCG Marketplace

I’m really excited about the upcoming Palworld Trading Card Game! It’s jumping into a market that’s already pretty full, even though it doesn’t officially launch until late July. There are so many popular TCGs already, like Magic: The Gathering and Pokémon, which are huge, and Yu-Gi-Oh! is right up there with them too.
Besides Pokémon and Magic: The Gathering, several other card games are currently popular, including One Piece, Disney Lorcana, Digimon, Star Wars Unlimited, Gundam, and Flesh and Blood. Newer games like Riftbound and Cookie Run are also gaining traction. With My Little Pony and Cyberpunk 2077 card games scheduled to release soon, the market is expected to become even more competitive by the end of the year.
For Palworld to succeed with its card game, it needs to be genuinely enjoyable and different from Pokémon. While copying Pokémon might attract players initially, the game will need unique features and gameplay to stay popular long-term. We’ll find out soon enough what Palworld has planned for its card game and whether it can stand out.
