Rumors suggest a popular PlayStation game is heading to Nintendo’s upcoming Switch 2 console. Last week’s Nintendo Direct presentation didn’t feature any PlayStation announcements, leading to questions about Sony’s plans for the new system. While Sony offered limited support for the original Nintendo Switch, they did start testing the waters with titles like *LEGO Horizon Adventures*. Despite Sony generally being hesitant to release games on competitor platforms, it appears one of their top PS4 games will be available on the new Nintendo console anyway.
A recent report suggests that *Death Stranding* might be available on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. While it’s always been unclear who controls the publishing rights for Hideo Kojima’s acclaimed game, if it does come to Nintendo Switch, it will likely be published by 505 Games. They’ve previously released the game on PC and Xbox. Kojima Productions owns the game itself, but the publishing details have remained somewhat unclear. Ultimately, fans of the 2019 PlayStation 4 title are excited by the possibility of playing it on the Switch 2.
The Source
A trusted Nintendo insider, Nash Weedle – who accurately predicted announcements during the recent Nintendo Direct – is reporting on a new development. He believes an announcement related to this development ‘could be close.’ While he doesn’t specifically mention the Tokyo Game Show, it seems like a likely place for the announcement to happen.
Death Stranding 2
Okay, so the latest reports don’t say anything about *Death Stranding 2* hitting the new Nintendo Switch 2. Honestly, it *could* happen, and I’d even say it’s likely, but only if they get the first *Death Stranding* on Switch first. And even then, don’t expect it soon. It looks like PC is the next stop for the original, then after PlayStation’s timed exclusive deal is up, *then* we might see it on the Switch 2 and other consoles. Knowing how long these things usually take, I’m guessing we’re looking at at least five years before it shows up anywhere else.
Keep in mind that this information isn’t official – we haven’t received confirmation from any official sources. We’ll update this story if that changes. In the meantime, we’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments or over on the ComicBook Forum. Are you planning to play *Death Stranding* if it comes to the Nintendo Switch 2?
