A recent report suggests PlayStation will hold its next State of Play event soon. PlayStation usually follows a predictable schedule, with presentations in February and September, and another in either May or June during the summer. While the exact date for the summer 2026 event isn’t confirmed, the report indicates it’s likely to happen earlier rather than later this year.
So, I was checking social media and saw someone ask Nate the Hate – you know, the guy who’s usually right about PlayStation stuff – if there’d be another State of Play in June. He said it’s looking like it’ll happen way before then! He even mentioned April 16th as a possible date, but stressed it’s not confirmed. If it does happen next week, he thinks it’ll mostly be about games from other developers coming to the PS5.
What Will Appear in this Upcoming State of Play?

PlayStation is expected to showcase several upcoming PS5 games in its next State of Play presentation. Big titles like 007 First Light, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, and Saros are all due to release in the next month or two. With limited information available about PS5’s game releases for the rest of the year, a State of Play announcement seems likely soon.
PlayStation fans are eagerly awaiting more details about Marvel’s Wolverine. Insomniac Games promised a new look at the game this spring, and with that timeframe nearing its end, an announcement seems imminent. Many expect Marvel’s Wolverine to be a major focus of PlayStation’s next State of Play presentation, potentially setting the stage for a September release on PS5.
