Honestly, the last few weeks in Pokemon Go have felt a little repetitive – we’ve seen a lot of the same events happening over and over. The Mimikyu event for April Fool’s Day was a fun surprise, but mostly, it feels like the game is just replaying old content with this Memories in Motion season. They’re adding the new April GO Pass and some Galarian Pokemon later, which is cool, but it’s been a bit of a slow start to the month. Still, I don’t mind too much – it’s actually a good chance for me to finally catch some Pokemon I missed, especially those rare Shiny ones in costumes!
On April 4th, from 2 PM to 5 PM local time, Pokemon Go is holding a special Fashion Raid Day event. Though there aren’t any new costumes for Pokemon this time, it’s a fantastic chance to find Shiny versions. All 11 returning costumed Pokemon can be Shiny in Pokemon Go, making it a good opportunity to catch those that are rare. Plus, each costumed Pokemon appearing during the event will have an increased chance of being Shiny.
All Pokemon Go Fashion Raid Day Costumed Bosses with Boosted Shiny Odds

This Fashion Raid Day focuses on Pokemon wearing costumes appearing more often in Raids. While players who prefer finding Pokemon in the wild might not be thrilled, the event offers a perk: 6 free Raid Passes earned by spinning Photo Disks at Gyms. This means you can participate in several Raids without needing to buy passes. Plus, the limit for using Remote Raid Passes will be raised to 20, giving you even more opportunities to join Raids from anywhere.
During Fashion Raid Day (between 2 PM and 5 PM local time), you’ll have a better chance of finding these costumed Pokémon in Raids.
One-Star Raids
- Blitzle with a collar
- Croagunk in a backwards baseball cap
- Diglett with a tophat
- Minccino wearing bows and glasses
- Shinx in a tophat
- Sneasel with a beanie and sunglasses
- Wooper in a beanie
Three-Star Raids
- Absol wearing sunglasses
- Butterfree wearing a bow
- Dragonite with sunglasses and a bowtie
- Kirlia with a tophat

All 11 Raid Boss Pokémon have a chance of appearing as Shiny during the event, and their Shiny rates will be increased. Raids will refresh approximately every 30 minutes, giving you multiple opportunities to battle each boss and potentially catch some Shiny Pokémon wearing special costumes.
You should be able to handle One-Star Raids by yourself without much trouble. Three-Star Raids are a little more challenging – it depends on the boss – but a well-prepared team that exploits type matchups should be able to win.
Besides offering better odds of finding Shiny costumed Pokémon, Fashion Raid Day will also increase your chances of getting Rare Candy XL. You’ll also earn 50% more XP and double the Stardust when you participate in Raids. While this event doesn’t feature new Pokémon or increased wild spawns, it’s still a fun way to spend a few hours playing Pokémon Go.
