A classic PlayStation 1 game, Tekken 3, recently launched on PS5 and PS4, but there’s a catch. Many consider Tekken 3 to be one of the best fighting games ever made for the original PlayStation, so its wider release is exciting news. However, a key feature is missing, which may disappoint some players.
The new version of Tekken 3 is available to play now on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, but unfortunately, it doesn’t include PlayStation trophies. This is similar to what happened with other older PlayStation 1 and 2 games that have been re-released on newer consoles. It’s unknown why trophies weren’t added, which means players won’t be able to earn a Platinum trophy by completing challenges in the game.
Will This Feature Ever Be Added?

Currently, Tekken 3 doesn’t have trophies, but an update could add them later. Other older PlayStation games have received trophy support after release based on player requests, so it’s possible the same could happen with Tekken 3.
As a big Tekken fan, I’m starting to think we probably won’t see trophies added to Tekken 3, and it’s really disappointing. The recent Tekken 2 release on PS4 and PS5 didn’t have trophies either, and Bandai Namco hasn’t added them since it came out. Because of that, it feels pretty unlikely they’ll bother with Tekken 3. I’m trying not to expect them, even though it’s a bummer!
Even so, Tekken 3 includes several new features not found in the original PlayStation version, such as quick saves, better graphics, and a rewind function. Many consider this the most convenient and enjoyable way to experience Tekken 3 today, and it’s available for just $9.99 on the PlayStation Store. PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers can even download it for free as part of the “Classics” catalog.
