PlayStation is offering a free download for fans of a game originally released on PS4 in 2015. However, this offer ends on October 27th, and it’s not for the popular title *Bloodborne*. It seems PlayStation continues to ignore *Bloodborne*, just as they’ve done with another 2015 PS4 exclusive, *The Order: 1886*. While they might overlook *The Order: 1886*, it’s still unclear why PlayStation hasn’t revisited *Bloodborne*.
Sony hasn’t forgotten about their 2015 PlayStation 4 exclusive game, *Until Dawn*. They’ve recently put a lot of effort and money into the horror series, releasing a remake for PlayStation 5 and PC in 2024. Unfortunately, the remake wasn’t well-received and included some strange changes that fans disliked. A film adaptation released this year also didn’t fare well. Despite these setbacks, Sony has at least tried to bring the series back, and the original game remains popular with its fans. As a treat for those fans, Sony is giving away free, exclusive PlayStation Network avatars based on the game.
How to Get the Freebies
The avatars are based on the movie, not the game itself. Luckily, one avatar is just the series logo, making it a good choice for players who aren’t fans of the movie’s theme.
You can get these avatars by downloading the Sony Pictures Core app. Find it on your PS5’s media home screen, or in the PlayStation Store if you’re on PS4. After downloading, sign up on the campaign website to receive a voucher with the avatars. This offer is good until October 27th, but some people are saying the sign-up form isn’t working. Sony hasn’t confirmed this issue yet, but they’ll likely fix it since the offer is still active for a month.
You won’t get the avatars immediately after completing the process; they’ll be delivered in December. Sony hasn’t given a specific date, but says it will be towards the end of the month, and there’s a chance of delays. If it’s delayed, the avatars might not arrive until 2026, though this isn’t confirmed.
