Fans of the long-running *Resident Evil* series might be getting a new remake, which is something they’ve been hoping for. *Resident Evil* is a hugely influential horror franchise, known for setting the standard for scary and effective games – it even inspired movies like *28 Days Later*, changing how we see zombies. Almost 30 years after the first game, *Resident Evil* remains incredibly popular and continues to be a major force in gaming. While Capcom is already planning to release *Resident Evil Requiem* next year, rumors suggest they’re working on even more titles.
The Resident Evil series has changed a lot over the past ten years. After the disappointing release of *Resident Evil 6* in 2012, Capcom successfully revitalized the franchise with *Resident Evil 7* five years later. Beyond that fresh start, Capcom also began completely rebuilding older games like *Resident Evil 2* and *Resident Evil 3*. Fans are eager to see more remakes, including *Resident Evil 5* and some of the spin-off titles, and it looks like some of those requests might be granted.
Resident Evil 0 Remake Details Leaked
For a while, fans have been speculating about remakes of the *Resident Evil* games *0* and *Code Veronica*. Now, MP1st has confirmed these rumors in a new report, stating that both games are indeed being remade. *Resident Evil: Code Veronica* is currently planned to launch in early 2027, and *Resident Evil 0* is expected to follow in 2028.
Okay, so I’m hearing some really cool stuff about the *Resident Evil 0* remake! Apparently, internally they’re calling it “Chamber,” which is a nod to Rebecca Chambers, one of the main characters. And get this – it sounds like they’re recording all new voice acting. I saw that Jon McLaren, who played a character in *Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy*, has a project listed on his resume called “Project Chamber,” and everyone’s guessing he’s going to voice Billy Coen, Rebecca’s partner in the game. Pretty exciting stuff if it’s true!
Like many remakes, the new version of *Resident Evil 0* will likely add more to the original story. A character who wasn’t seen in the first game – the train conductor – will apparently play a major role and even interact with the player. That’s all the confirmed information so far, but it’s good to have another trustworthy source confirm the reports about a *Resident Evil 0* remake.
