Wow, 2025 has been amazing for games! We’ve already seen so many big names get new titles – a really relaxing Lord of the Rings game, another Marvel game for mobile, and tons more. But I was especially excited for this one! The new Foundation game, based on Isaac Asimov’s universe, is finally here! Foundation: Galactic Frontier officially launched on October 21st, and I’m already playing it on my phone and PC. It was worth the wait!
The mobile and PC game Foundation: Galactic Frontier is now officially available after a successful beta test late last year. While initial reactions suggested the game could benefit from some polishing, players are generally enjoying the full release. Inspired by both Isaac Asimov’s Foundation book series and the Apple TV+ adaptation, the game is free to play.
Foundation: Galactic Frontier Lets Sci-Fi Fans Step into Asimov’s Iconic Series
In Foundation: Galactic Frontier, you take on the role of a spaceship captain during the Trader Era, tasked with hauling cargo across the galaxy. The game focuses on strategic decision-making as you navigate your fleet, and you’ll occasionally engage in real-time combat. You’ll also build a crew of diverse characters – robots, bounty hunters, and outlaws – and choose the best spacecraft for your needs. You can see the game’s visuals and style in the official launch trailer linked below.
This ambitious sci-fi strategy RPG lets you manage resources and make tough choices as you build and customize your fleet of ships. You’ll also repair those ships, recruit a crew, and explore a huge universe. As you play, a new story unfolds, expanding the world of Foundation.
Wow, this game has come a long way since the beta! They’ve added so much new stuff – storylines, characters, ships, and events. And honestly, people seem to really be enjoying it! It’s got a 4.5-star rating on the App Store, and a lot of us are calling it an awesome take on the Apple TV series. Even if you’re a fan of the original books, reviewers are saying it’s a really fun way to experience that world. It’s at 4.1 on Google Play, but that includes some older feedback from the beta, so it’s still looking great!
While many people are enjoying the game, some players have reported encountering bugs that affected their experience. Others are concerned that the free-to-play model might give an unfair advantage to those who spend money. The game doesn’t have ads, but it does offer quite a few in-game purchases, and it uses multiple currencies, which is common for mobile games. How much these purchases affect your enjoyment will likely depend on your individual experience.
You can download Foundation: Galactic Frontier for free on iOS, Android, and PC through the official website. Have you tried it yet? Share your thoughts and join the discussion in the ComicBook Forum!
