In the last week of this month, the creator of ‘Schedule 1‘ unveiled a sneak peek of the upcoming Cartel Update. Originally, it was planned to release this new update for the beta version during the same week. However, as of now, beta players haven’t encountered rival cartels in ‘Schedule 1’. As expected, TVGS remains transparent with his audience. Now, we have a fresh update on when the Cartel Update will be released, and it seems it won’t be long before we see it.
The much-anticipated update for the “Schedule 1” Cartel in the widely played drug dealer simulator is almost here! This fan-voted expansion brings fierce rival cartels into the game, along with some exciting new features. However, it appears that TVGS slightly overestimated the release date for this update initially planning it for late July, then early August. Now, TVGS has announced that it should be available “within the next couple of days.” This means beta players can expect to face off against these new rival cartels around August 10th or 11th, assuming everything goes smoothly.

The new content for the beta is expected shortly, however, we’re yet to determine when it will be incorporated into the main game. Historically, the transition process has been swift, but potential issues discovered during testing could lead to additional hold-ups.
Cartel Update Coming to Schedule 1 Beta Branch, Here’s How to Opt In
The latest update for the Cartel, similar to many Schedule 1 patches, will initially release on the beta version of the game. To experience these new features early, you’ll need to switch to the beta branch on Steam. However, keep in mind that this transition comes with potential risks as some features may not function correctly and could potentially affect your saved games. But if you’re eager to be one of the first players to explore the new cartel features, here’s how to join the Steam Beta branch.
Initially, launch the Steam application. Next, locate the game you’re interested in testing (for example, “Schedule 1”). After that, right-click on the game and choose “Properties” from the dropdown menu.

After that, navigate to the “Beta” menu. Next to “Join Beta,” you’ll find a drop-down arrow. Click on it and choose the option labeled “Beta” from the list.

Performing the action will cause Steam to upgrade and transition to the experimental branch for what’s known as Project 1. Unlike closed betas that necessitate a password, open betas such as this one don’t require any password input in the designated field.
After signing up for the beta version, you’ll have the opportunity to try out and provide feedback on upcoming updates, such as the Cartel Update, before they become available to everyone else. You can easily switch back to the standard version at any point by following the same process and exiting the beta version.
