A recently launched sci-fi game is receiving high praise on Steam, boasting a 96/100 rating. For a short time, it’s available at a 40% discount, bringing the price down to $11.99 from its usual $19.99. This special offer, labeled an “introductory offer,” ends on October 9th. Interestingly, though it’s considered a new release, the game has been playable since 2023 through Steam Early Access – it’s only been four days since the full launch.
The new Steam game, Mars First Logistics, is developed by Shape Shop. While Shape Shop has released games on Steam previously, this marks their first time as the primary developer. And it’s proving to be an excellent start! As of today, the PC game has received 1,412 user reviews on Steam, with an impressive 96% of players giving it a positive rating. This earns the game an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating – the highest possible rating on the platform.
About the Game
As the name suggests, Mars First Logistics is a game where you build and control robotic rovers in a realistic, open-world environment-the goal is to transport goods. What the title doesn’t tell you is that you can enjoy this sci-fi experience on your own, or team up with up to three friends online. However, with a player base of around 2,000 at any given time, finding other players might be tricky if you don’t have friends available to join you.
If you’re a Steam Deck owner looking for a new game to enjoy while waiting for your next favorite title, you’ll be pleased to hear that Mars First Logistics is officially Steam Deck Verified.
What Steam Users Are Saying
Receiving a score of 96/100, Mars First Logistics is among the top-rated games of 2025, based on Steam user reviews. This is fairly typical for games released in early access, as they evolve with player suggestions and tend to attract dedicated players. Reviews also indicate that those who enjoyed Trailmakers and Death Stranding might especially like this new sci-fi title.
One top user review calls this game a “hidden gem” that’s easy to overlook in Steam’s massive library. The reviewer stumbled upon it on the front page and was thrilled they did. They describe the combination of inventive vehicle construction and realistic, physics-based transport as surprisingly captivating, satisfying, and simply enjoyable. It’s easily one of the best discoveries they’ve made on Steam in a while.
According to How Long to Beat, Mars First Logistics takes about 13 hours to complete. However, it’s a game you can easily play again and again. In fact, some players have spent 21, 189, and 40 hours with the game. While it might not become a classic sci-fi title, it’s definitely one of the better ones released this year, and the game’s data backs that up.
