Netflix has confirmed they are developing a new Korean live-action adaptation of the hit webtoon “Solo Leveling,” created by Chugong and DUBU. The series was widely praised online for its potential to become an excellent anime, but its success truly shone when the anime version was released. Now, the franchise has grown even larger and Netflix, along with Kakao Entertainment and Sanai Pictures, are collaborating on a live-action adaptation of “Solo Leveling.
Earlier this year, it was announced that Kakao Entertainment was working on a live-action adaptation of “Solo Leveling”. Now, Netflix has officially confirmed that a Korean production for this series is indeed underway. The main character, Sung Jinwoo, will be portrayed by Byeon Woo-seok, known for his roles in “20th Century Girl” and “Lovely Runner”. The series will be co-directed by Lee Hae-jun and Kim Byung-seo, who have previously worked on films such as “Ashfall”, “Like a Virgin”, “Castaway on the Moon”, and “My Dictator”.
The worldwide hit “Solo Leveling” is making its way to Netflix as a live-action show, with Byeon Woo-seok taking on the role of protagonist Sung Jin-woo.

When Does the New Solo Leveling Live-Action Series Come Out?
Currently, Netflix hasn’t specified a release window or date for the upcoming live-action series of “Solo Leveling”. However, they are collaborating with Kakao Entertainment and Sanai Pictures to produce the show. They will share more details in due course. Given the trend, it’s logical that a live-action series is underway. Similar to “Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint”, other Webtoon releases have garnered success not only through anime but also through live-action adaptations, such as the upcoming movie version of “Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint” (set to premiere in the US this Summer).
