The next Sonic the Hedgehog movie is coming soon, and a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) film also has a confirmed release date.
I was so excited to hear that Paramount is making a new live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie! It’s going to be awesome to see the Turtles back in live-action. From what I understand, this new movie isn’t connected to the recent animated film, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem – they’re actually making a sequel to that one, which is coming out in 2027.
The Sonic the Hedgehog movies have been very profitable for Paramount. After the success of the third film, a fourth movie is already planned for release on March 19, 2027.
What are the release dates for the new Sonic and TMNT movies?
According to Variety, Paramount Pictures has set a release date of November 17, 2028, for the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. The film will combine live-action and computer-generated imagery. Neal H. Moritz, known for his work on the Sonic the Hedgehog movies, will be producing it.
A new Sonic the Hedgehog movie is scheduled to release on December 22, 2028. It’s currently unknown if this will be the fifth installment in the series or part of a larger story Paramount is planning. Details about the plot for both this movie and another unconfirmed project are still being kept secret.
Many fans think the next Sonic the Hedgehog movie will feature time travel, possibly drawing inspiration from the classic 1993 game, Sonic CD. With Amy Rose and Metal Sonic appearing at the end of Sonic the Hedgehog 3, viewers anticipate they’ll be major characters in the upcoming film, and potentially connected to the planned “Sonic Universe Event Film.” There’s also buzz about future appearances of Shadow, who was voiced by Keanu Reeves in the last movie.
