Just a few short hours after its debut, the game Wuchang: Fallen Feathers has shown tremendous popularity on Steam, attracting more than 100,000 players simultaneously. This is the second title from Chinese developer Leenzee, and it can be played on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and personal computers.
Originally announced way back in September 2021, the Chinese-developed action RPG titled Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, has been making its gradual approach to the market. This game rekindled interest during the June 2024 Xbox Games Showcase, where it was officially announced as a day one addition to the Game Pass subscription service. The official release date for Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, which is July 24, 2025, was confirmed earlier this year, sparking excitement among fans of soulslike games.
The action-packed game “Wuchang: Fallen Feathers” is now playable, and it seems to be making a significant impact on Steam, as it’s shaping up to be a popular choice among gamers. Upon release, the game reached an impressive peak of 114,132 concurrent players, and at the time of writing, it still has more than 111,000 active players. This sudden surge in popularity has catapulted “Wuchang: Fallen Feathers” to fifth place on Steam’s list of Most Played Games, which is a remarkable achievement for a new intellectual property from an unestablished studio.
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Pulls Over 114,000 Concurrent Steam Players
It seems that one factor leading to the success of “Wuchang: Fallen Feathers” could be its relatively low PC requirements. The game necessitates a minimum of an Nvidia GTX 1060 (6GB) or AMD RX 580 (8GB) graphics card, an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600 processor, and 16GB of RAM. Given that the most frequently used GPU and RAM configuration among Steam users, as per the June 2025 survey, is the RTX 4060 (which exceeds the recommended spec) and 16GB respectively, it can be inferred that a significant number of Steam users are capable of running “Wuchang: Fallen Feathers” smoothly, even with impressive visuals and performance.
Even though Leenzee hasn’t disclosed the performance of “Wuchang: Fallen Feathers” on Xbox Series X/S and PS5 yet, the high number of players on Steam might suggest that the game is being well-received on consoles as well. Notably, “Wuchang: Fallen Feathers” was launched on Xbox Game Pass on day one, which means a significant number of subscribers are likely eager to play this action RPG without any cost. The game has garnered generally positive reviews, with an average score of 75% across OpenCritic and Metacritic. Critics seem to appreciate the unique Madness mechanic in “Wuchang: Fallen Feathers”, which alters how death and damage function, as well as its combat system that emphasizes dodging.
