While it seems logical that a remake of a classic would be good, we’ve seen many, including Square Enix, stumble with what should be straightforward remasters. Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles successfully updates a beloved classic for today’s players, all while remaining true to the elements that made the original so special and memorable. The new Final Fantasy game isn’t only popular with PlayStation players. It’s receiving very positive feedback across multiple platforms. For instance, it has an 88% approval rating on Steam. Similarly, players on the Xbox Store are giving it almost perfect scores. The only exception is Metacritic, where user reviews are generally negative – something that’s common for most games.
With all of that in mind, players curious about this remastered classic can expect to pay $49.99 for the PS5 and PS4 versions. However, it’s worth noting that the game doesn’t include any special enhancements for the PlayStation 5 Pro, unlike many recent major releases.
