New Star Wars Movie Rumor Reveals Yet Another Jedi Survivor (& Already Retcons The Sequel Trilogy)

Okay, so I just got back from a showing set five years after the end of *The Rise of Skywalker*, and let me tell you, things are… complicated. The galaxy is trying to figure itself out after Palpatine’s defeat, but it’s not all sunshine and roses. With both the Jedi and the First Order basically gone, everyone’s wondering what kind of world is being built in their place – and who’s really in charge now. It’s a really interesting setup, leaving a lot of questions about what comes next.

It’s still a bit unclear what to make of *Starfighter*, which has been kept largely under wraps. We knew big stars like Ryan Gosling, Matt Smith, and Mia Goth were involved, but details were scarce. Now, thanks to a report from John Rocha at *The Hot Mic*, we have a better idea of the plot-and it’s quite different from what many expected. According to Rocha, the story centers on a young boy who is strong with the Force. Amy Adams plays his mother, who appears to be a Jedi. While Ryan Gosling isn’t a Jedi himself, he’s helping his nephew escape two villains who are pursuing him throughout the galaxy, on a mission given to him by Adams.

Star Wars Just Can’t Stay Away From The Force (And Father Figures)

Does the story of *Starfighter* seem a bit familiar? It probably will. It’s the third *Star Wars* film to focus on a protector safeguarding a young person strong with the Force on a perilous journey across the galaxy. Ryan Gosling joins actors like Pedro Pascal, Liam Neeson, and Ewan McGregor – all playing dedicated space dads simply trying to raise their powerful children in a chaotic galaxy.

I’ve been following the plans for a new Star Wars film for a while now, and it’s exciting to think about Rey continuing her work rebuilding the Jedi Order after the events of *The Rise of Skywalker*. Apparently, this new movie, *Starfighter*, might connect to that story, possibly with Ryan Gosling’s character wanting Rey to take in his nephew. And the introduction of Amy Adams is fascinating! If, as some believe, her character is a Jedi, it raises so many questions about her past – did she survive Order 66 as a child, or perhaps the attack on Luke’s temple by Kylo Ren? It feels like Star Wars is constantly reshaping its own history to make these new stories work, which happened with *The Rise of Skywalker* too. It makes you wonder about the title *The Last Jedi* – how many ‘last’ Jedis will there be, really?
