A new survival-horror game has quietly been released on the PlayStation Store as a console exclusive. It’s important to note that most “exclusive” games these days are still available on PC, and this one is no different – it’s also planned to launch on Xbox Series X in the near future.
Today, Ice-Pick Lodge and HypeTrain Digital unexpectedly launched Pathologic 3 on the PlayStation Store for PS5 and PS5 Pro, alongside its previously announced PC release. Originally, the game was scheduled to come out on January 23rd for Xbox Series X, making this the first PlayStation 5 exclusive game of 2026.
A Psychological Survival-Horror Game
Originally revealed in 2024 and planned for a 2025 release, Pathologic 3 is the latest game in the Pathologic series by Russian studio Ice-Pick Lodge. The series first gained a dedicated following back in 2005, and after a long hiatus, a sequel was released in 2019. Now, Pathologic 3 has finally arrived. While professional reviews aren’t available yet, early player feedback is positive. Currently, the game has an 86% approval rating on Steam based on 154 user reviews, and a 4/5 star rating from PlayStation 5 players on the PlayStation Store.
You play as Daiil Dankovsky, a young doctor who journeys to a secluded town plagued by a strange illness. He’s come from the capital city hoping to discover the key to eternal life. The town is doomed to fall within 12 days, and it’s up to you to find a way to save it.
If you’re excited about this game based on what you’ve seen, it will cost $34.99 when it releases. However, PlayStation Plus members can get it for a discounted price of $27.99 right now. It’s worth noting that there aren’t any special improvements for the PS5 Pro version, which isn’t unusual – most new games on the PlayStation Store don’t have them either.
