New Terminator Video Game Delayed

A highly anticipated video game set in the Terminator universe is set to launch across all major gaming platforms. Originally slated for release in September, publisher Reef Entertainment has announced a slight delay of approximately two months. The new release date for Terminator 2D: No Fate is now October 31st. While a Terminator game on Halloween might seem fitting, the real reason for the delay pertains to the physical version of the game. Instead of releasing two versions at different times, the developers are holding off the release altogether to further refine and enhance the final product before it hits shelves.

Due to unexpected complications during production and release preparations, we’ve had to postpone the launch of our game. Reef Entertainment shared this update on X/Twitter. This extra time will benefit the Bitmap Bureau team in making final adjustments for the initial patch, ensuring that all players can enjoy an optimized version of T2D simultaneously. This delay affects both physical and digital editions.

It’s unfortunate for Terminator enthusiasts to hear this, but I believe it will lead to an improved final product overall. The announcement of Terminator 2D: No Fate back in February has generated a great deal of anticipation about the game. Given its foundation on Terminator 2: Judgement Day, one of the most acclaimed films in the series and a timeless classic, it’s no surprise that there’s so much excitement. However, the positive buzz isn’t only due to its popularity. The previews have many reasons to be eager, including stunning 2D sprites and swift 2D gameplay reminiscent of Konami’s Contra series.

In the game titled Terminator 2D: No Fate, players have the opportunity to control not only Sarah Connor but also her son John Connor, along with the T-800. Although the trailers for this game appear to heavily draw from the events of Terminator 2, it’s important to note that the game isn’t simply a retelling of the movie. Instead, players can expect fresh sequences and even multiple endings, which could potentially make the game more engaging and worth revisiting.

As a devout fan, I’ve always appreciated the nostalgic vibe that Bitmap Bureau brings to their games, inspired by the golden age of gaming in the ’90s. Known for masterpieces like Final Vendetta and Xeno Crisis, both of which boast “very positive” reviews on Steam, I eagerly await the release of their next title, Terminator 2D: No Fate. I hope that this game will continue their tradition of excellence, offering a taste of classic ’90s gaming for fans like me, while also providing an engaging experience for those who didn’t grow up during that era.
