Players of The Sims 4 have grown increasingly annoyed with the game’s many bugs over the past few years. These issues range from problems present in the original game to new ones introduced with each expansion pack. Recently, fans have been asking for fixes to the core game experience before any new content is released. Now, the Sims team is responding with a detailed plan to address these problems, starting with a major update arriving soon. This first update includes over 150 bug fixes and improvements.
The creators of The Sims 4 have shared a preview of the patch notes for a large update coming on November 4th. This update will focus heavily on fixing bugs – more than almost any previous update for the game. While past updates often introduced new features, this one prioritizes stability and performance. The team also plans to continue improving the game with more fixes and enhancements based on what players want.
Early Patch Notes for The Sims 4 November 4th Update Show Hundreds of Bug Fixes in the Works

As usual before a new update, EA has shared a list of the most important bug fixes coming in the November 4th patch for The Sims 4. This update will likely cause mods to stop working temporarily, due to the number of changes. However, if everything goes smoothly, the update should fix many of the biggest problems with The Sims 4, based on feedback from players on the EA forums. This could significantly improve the game, though it’s not a complete fix – more updates will likely be needed in the future.
The update releasing on November 4th addresses over 150 bugs reported by players. This includes improvements to the core game, such as ensuring children inherit traits from their parents and keeping parent-child relationships strong after a baby is born. While most of the fixes are for the base game, several expansion packs will also be updated. This includes the newest Adventure Awaits pack, further improvements to illnesses from Enchanted by Nature, and more. You can find a complete list of the bug fixes in the latest free update for The Sims 4 in the Laundry List preview here.

Even older expansion packs, like Get to Work, will receive bug fixes in the upcoming update. This should improve the game for all players, from those with just the base game to dedicated collectors. However, some issues still need addressing. Developers are still working on a solution for the save file problem with the For Rent pack, and EA emphasizes that this is an ongoing effort – more fixes will be released alongside the For Rent fix when it’s ready. The update is scheduled to launch on November 4th.
This update will include some new free items for the base game, though EA hasn’t revealed what those will be yet. We’ll probably find out more about all the new content before the update releases on November 4th.
