Okay, so Square Enix just announced they’re bringing the original Final Fantasy VII to PC through Steam! They’re saying it’ll have some improvements to how it plays, which is awesome. I’m really excited to revisit Midgar with a better experience.
If you already bought Final Fantasy VII on Steam, you’ll get the updated version at no extra cost. You’ll still be able to play the original version, which will be renamed Final Fantasy VII – 2013 Edition. However, once the new version launches, the 2013 Edition will no longer be available for purchase, and your saved games won’t transfer between the two versions.
Further information about the improvements in the new version were not announced.
