New Xbox Game Pass Confirmed Day One Games Include One of 2026’s Biggest Releases

Two new games are coming to Xbox Game Pass on the day they launch! One will be available in November, and the other is a major title planned for release in 2026. However, both games will only be accessible to those with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription – they won’t be included with the Standard or Core plans.

Xbox Game Pass is getting two new games. First, on November 12th, you can play *Winter Burrow*, a relaxing survival game from Pine Creek Games and Noodlecakes. It will be available on Game Pass the day it releases, and while it’s also coming to Switch, it won’t be available on PS5, making it a great addition for Xbox players. The second game is *Forza Horizon 6*, announced today at Tokyo Game Show and scheduled for release in 2026. Playground Games is developing this title, and it will eventually be available on PS5, but not when it first launches.

Winter Burrow

Okay, so I’m playing this new game, *Winter Burrow*, and it’s pretty cool. You’re a little mouse trying to survive the winter – which means a *lot* of running around collecting stuff. I’m talking resources, crafting tools, even baking pies! But it’s not just about gathering, because the wilderness is super dangerous and there are bugs everywhere trying to kill me. Thankfully, I can’t do it alone, so I’ve been trying to make friends with the other critters in the game. It’s the first game from a new studio, Pine Creek Games, so honestly, I’m going in blind and hoping it’s good!

Forza Horizon 6

As a Forza fan, I’m super hyped for *Forza Horizon 6*! This series is easily one of Xbox’s biggest, and it’s come a long way – it used to be a side thing to the more serious *Forza Motorsport*, but now it’s the main event. The coolest part? They’re taking us to Japan! It’s a totally new location for the series, and unlike anything we’ve seen before. It’s exciting, for sure, but also a bit of a risk for the developers, Playground Games. They’re usually so comfortable making these games, and Japan is different. Still, they’ve proven time and again they’re one of the best racing game studios out there, so I’m confident they’ll nail it. We just don’t know *when* in 2026 it’s coming out yet!

These recent game releases highlight Microsoft’s growing strategy of adding new games to Xbox Game Pass on the very day they launch. They’re doing this because data shows it attracts subscribers, and it sets Game Pass apart from PlayStation Plus, which doesn’t offer nearly as many day-one releases. In fact, three of the four highest-rated games so far this year were available on Game Pass from day one, and October is already shaping up to have almost ten new day-one releases for subscribers.

We’d love to hear your thoughts – please leave a comment below! You can also discuss these games with other fans on the ComicBook Forum. Are you planning to play either of these new Xbox Game Pass titles when they’re available?
