New York Jets Player Kris Boyd Hospitalized After Midtown Shooting

Kris Boyd is receiving medical care after a night out took a violent turn.

I was shocked to hear that the Jets cornerback was shot in Manhattan early this morning, November 16th. NBC News reported he’s been hospitalized, and I’m really hoping he makes a full recovery. It’s just awful news.

Around 2 a.m., police were called to Sei Less restaurant in Midtown Manhattan and discovered a 29-year-old man, later identified as Boyd, suffering from a gunshot wound to the stomach. He was immediately transported to a nearby hospital and remains in critical condition, according to the New York Police Department.

According to a law enforcement source who spoke with NBC News, the shooting happened after a physical altercation involving Boyd. The bullet struck Boyd, an NFL player, and remains in his lung.

No arrests have been made thus far in connection with the case, authorities told the outlet.

The Jets have acknowledged the situation with Boyd, according to a team spokesperson who released a statement to NBC News. The team stated they will not be commenting further at this time.

TopMob News has reached out to the NYPD and the New York Jets for comment but has not heard back.

Alexander Boyd began his NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings in 2019, playing with them through 2022. After that, he played for the Arizona Cardinals and the Houston Texans. In March, he signed a one-year deal with the New York Jets, but was unfortunately placed on injured reserve in August.

With the situation still developing, Jermaine Johnson II, a teammate of Boyd’s, asked fans to remember the injured player and send him their support.

Linebacker Kris Boyd is facing a difficult time, and his teammate asked for prayers on X (formerly Twitter) for Boyd and his family. The post requested healing and safety for Boyd, asking for divine guidance to help him through this challenge.
