NexDock, known for its portable accessories that let you use features like Samsung DeX and Microsoft Continuum on the go, just announced a new device called NexPhone. What makes it special? It can run Android, Linux, and even Windows 11.
The NexPhone is a pocket-sized smartphone with a vibrant 6.58-inch 120Hz touchscreen. It boasts 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, plus fast 5G connectivity. Powered by a Qualcomm Dragonwing QCM6490 processor, the NexPhone will be available later this year for only $549.
The NexPhone is unique because it’s one of the first smartphones in a long time to offer Windows. According to NexDock, it can run apps designed for both Android and Linux, and it can also be set up to dual-boot with Windows 11, allowing you to run Windows directly on the phone.

NexPhone includes a special interface for Windows 11 that simplifies launching apps on the small touchscreen, resembling the familiar Start screen from older Windows Phones. You can always switch to the full Windows 11 operating system by restarting, and if you prefer, you can stick with Windows 11 instead of using Android or Linux.
I’m really excited that the NexPhone works with Windows 11 because it unlocks this amazing feature: a true Continuum experience. Basically, you can connect it to a lapdock or monitor, and suddenly it *becomes* a full-blown Windows 11 PC. You get the complete desktop, all the apps you’re used to – the whole shebang. It’s like having a desktop PC and a phone rolled into one!
You can also run apps directly on the phone itself. While Windows 11 lets you install any Windows application, using them on the small screen might be challenging. That’s why this device also supports Android, allowing you to switch to a mobile operating system with apps specifically designed for smaller screens.

It includes a microSD card slot to add more storage, NFC for quick contactless payments, and supports both fast 18W wired and wireless charging. This device is fully equipped and designed to make using Windows on the go simple and convenient. Plus, it’s built to be durable, meeting demanding military-grade (MIL-STD-810H) standards.
NexDock plans to start shipping the NexPhone in the third quarter of 2026. You can reserve one now with a $199 deposit. The total price of the phone is $549, so after the deposit, you’ll only need to pay $349 when it ships. It also includes a 5-port USB-C hub.
