Next Assassin’s Creed Game Gets Most Promising Update Yet

Fans of the Assassin’s Creed series have a reason to be excited about the next major installment from Ubisoft. Back in 2022, Ubisoft announced several new games, including Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which was released last year. Another announced title, currently known as Assassin’s Creed: Codename Hexe, has remained largely under wraps. Now, a recent update should give eager fans something new to look forward to with Hexe.

It appears Benoit Richter is now directing Assassin’s Creed: Codename Hexe, as recently discovered by Clawsome Gamer. Richter previously directed Batman: Arkham Origins at WB Games Montreal and his current LinkedIn profile shows he’s working on Hexe at Ubisoft as Game Director, meaning he’s leading the game’s development. If you enjoyed Arkham Origins, this makes Hexe even more promising.

What Do We Know About Assassin’s Creed: Hexe?

We still don’t know much about the upcoming Assassin’s Creed: Hexe. Rumors suggest the game will feature a female protagonist for the first time in the main Assassin’s Creed series. It’s reportedly set in the 16th century, focusing on the historical witch trials. This setting could give the game a stronger horror element than previous titles, marking another significant change for the franchise.

Ubisoft hasn’t announced a release date for Assassin’s Creed: Hexe yet. However, since development began in 2022, a release isn’t likely too far away. We expect Ubisoft to share more details in 2026, potentially leading to a launch in 2027 or 2028. We’ll keep you updated here at ComicBook as soon as we have more information about the game.
