The “Ghost Recon” series has been inactive since Ubisoft halted development on the battle royale shooter titled “Ghost Recon Frontline” around three years ago. But a new installment, known as “Ovr,” is said to be advancing well based on reports from Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson.
According to multiple reports, Henderson learned that an internal alpha phase is set to start this Fall. It’s said to be planned for release next year, with approximately a year needed to progress from the alpha stage to the finished product, assuming everything proceeds smoothly without significant adjustments being necessary in game development.
There’s been talk since 2022 about the upcoming “Ghost Recon” game, and it’s said to be a first-person shooter with military simulation elements. People are comparing it to “Ready or Not.” The storyline is rumored to be set in the grim “Naiman War,” a fictional conflict where many lives have been lost.
It seems that there’s a greater emphasis on team-centric battles, but it remains to be seen whether it will incorporate open-world aspects similar to those found in games like Ghost Recon Wildlands and Breakpoint. Keep an eye out for future news on this subject.
