Next Mass Effect is Still Coming, As BioWare Has “A Lot of Universe to Cover and Features to Build”

With so much happening in the gaming world, it’s understandable to miss N7 Day. However, Mike Gamble, the executive producer for Mass Effect, recently confirmed that the next Mass Effect game is still being made. He and the teams at EA and BioWare are dedicated to continuing the Mass Effect story, which addresses recent concerns about the studio’s direction.

Acknowledging that BioWare has been very busy recently, especially with the release of Dragon Age: The Veilguard last year, studio head Gamble stated the team is now completely focused on Mass Effect. They’re working hard to expand the game’s universe, develop new features, and create compelling character relationships.

We’re really excited about the project we’re working on, and we can’t wait to share it with you when it’s ready – it’s going to be great! Thanks for being so eager for updates, and for even trying to read between the lines of my tweets (though, sometimes there is something hidden in there).

He also mentioned the new TV series they’re making with Amazon. Gamble explained that the writing team has a strong understanding of how the series fits into the larger Mass Effect story, particularly in relation to the most recent game. However, the series won’t center around Commander Shepard; it’s a fresh story set after the original trilogy, but still within the same universe.

Gamble ended his statement by assuring everyone that he wasn’t revealing any confidential game details, saying, “I promise.” It was a strange thing to have to clarify.

Development of the next Mass Effect game has been quite slow. Now that BioWare has reorganized and is concentrating on the project, we might see things move forward more quickly in the next few months or years. Hopefully, Jennifer Hale, who voiced the female version of Commander Shepard, will be involved in some way.
