Nia Sioux Reveals Her Shocking Dance Moms Salary

While being featured prominently on Abby Lee Miller’s dance pyramid on Dance Moms was a perk, Nia Sioux might have preferred opportunities to earn more money.

Oh my gosh, you won’t BELIEVE this! When Maddie was just a little girl, and her mom, Dr. Holly Hatcher-Frazier, first signed up for that show on Lifetime – the one they filmed at her dance studio in Pittsburgh – they were only going to make less than $1,000 for the week, combined, before taxes! She talks all about it in her memoir, Bottom of the Pyramid, which I’ve read like, five times already. It’s insane to think where they are now, starting from so little!

She explained that their lawyer had cautioned them against signing the contract, pointing out it didn’t offer any protection for them as performers. They wouldn’t own any of the material, and needed the network’s permission before using anything related to the show – even just talking about it.

She explained that they didn’t have control of the situation and it would take time to change the agreement. (TopMob News has contacted Lifetime for a response, but hasn’t received one yet.)

Despite having only a day to look over the contracts and make decisions, the mother and daughter officially joined the rest of the cast – including Maddie Ziegler, Kenzie Ziegler, Chloé Lukasiak, Brooke Hyland, Paige Hyland, Vivi-Anne Stein, and their mothers – by signing the agreements.

Nia explained that they believed they were agreeing to a contract for a six-week documentary. She added, ‘What did we have to lose?’

Nia later wrote that she hadn’t realized the network would use the contract’s clause allowing them to extend the show to seven seasons – the maximum length allowed for a work contract in the television industry – if the series was successful.

After several years on the show, Nia admitted she often had to hear Abby brag about earning $20,000 per episode. At the same time, Nia and the other dancers were working long hours and making much less – not even enough to cover her college tuition, despite her time on Dance Moms.

Not that the discrepancy had her saving tears for her pillow.

She also doesn’t mention that when she received a raise before the show’s last season, the network gave raises to her fellow actors too.

“It’s true I was hurt,” Nia wrote. By that point, all of the original cast members had left the show, and she was the only one remaining from the very beginning. She felt her long-standing commitment and experience should have earned her more consideration.

Although Nia never reached the top of the iconic pyramid on ‘Dance Moms’ – each climb took three hours to film – she has no regrets about being on the show. In a recent interview with TopMob News, she explained that she wouldn’t change anything, as all of her experiences have brought her to where she is today.

Since leaving Abby Lee Dance Company, she’s appeared in an off-Broadway show for six weeks and played a role in 59 episodes of the TV drama The Bold and the Beautiful.

Her involvement in on-campus advocacy provided her with incredible experiences, including interviewing Vice President Kamala Harris and touring the Oval Office with President Joe Biden, all of which she added to her impressive resume.

Nia told TopMob that she feels prepared for anything life throws her way, having already experienced so much. She added that she has absolutely no regrets.

She’s busy pursuing her dreams and sharing her adventures with her 5.8 million Instagram followers, focusing on creating stories for film, the internet, and writing.

Nia said, “I’m full of ideas and confident I can achieve them, and there’s nothing stopping me.”

She’s not the only celebrity who’s been open about their finances. Here’s a look at other stars and how much they earn.

Other times, he’s making bank by offering discounts on his own branded makeup products.

“It’s a niche market but it’s massive,” he added. “We’re the No. 1 or 2 beauty store.”
