Similar to Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon has produced many popular original animated series, including classics like Rugrats, Doug, Ren & Stimpy, and SpongeBob SquarePants, which have kept the network successful for years. However, one of Nickelodeon’s most iconic and long-running shows may have quietly ended, according to a writer who worked on it. While Nickelodeon hasn’t officially confirmed this, if the writer’s account is accurate, it suggests the network has become less innovative.
Writer Kevin Sullivan has revealed that The Loud House has quietly been canceled by Nickelodeon after nine seasons. In a social media post, Sullivan announced his departure from the network, explaining it was due to the show ending and no other projects being available for him. He reflected on his 22-year career at Nickelodeon, having worked on shows like Fatherhood, The X’s, The Fairly OddParents, Danny Phantom, TUFF Puppy, and The Loud House. While acknowledging the difficulties facing the animation industry, Sullivan expressed hope that he might continue writing, stating he still has plenty of funny ideas.
The Loud House’s Shakey Future

Even though The Loud House may be ending, you’ll still be able to watch new episodes! This month marks the start of its ninth season, and a new episode is actually airing today. The four upcoming episodes all center around love, fitting with the Valentine’s Day season, and are titled “My Phony Valentine/Man of my Schemes,” “Bean Dreams,” and “Living The Dream Boat.”
Despite reports that it was cancelled, you can still watch all of The Loud House on Paramount+. Season eight is coming to the streaming service on March 11th, and it joins The Loud House Collection, which already includes hundreds of episodes and all of the show’s movies. The cartoon even had a live-action version, The Really Loud House, which ran for two seasons before ending in 2024.
The show The Loud House centers around Lincoln Loud and his very large family, all living together. What’s funny is that Lincoln has ten sisters, and all of their names begin with the letter ‘L’! They shared many funny adventures throughout the series. While The Loud House has ended, other Nickelodeon cartoons are still going strong. SpongeBob SquarePants continues to be incredibly popular, with new episodes and movies still being released. Even though The Loud House is finished, it will always be remembered for its contribution to animation.
