Nightdive Studios unveiled the remastered version of Outlaws + Handful of Missions, developed alongside Lucasfilm Games. This exciting project is set to release towards the end of 2025 on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch platforms.
This remastered version enhances the 1997 Outlaws game and its 1998 expansion pack. It leverages Nightdive’s KEX engine for contemporary enhancements, offering players visually stunning graphics capable of displaying up to 4K resolution at a smooth 120 frames per second. Crossplay multiplayer is supported, along with four distinct competitive game modes.
Experience improved textures, reimagined artwork, and more crisp visuals. This updated version is compatible with contemporary controllers. Controller-wielding gamers can enjoy motion control features, vibration effects, and a convenient weapon selection wheel. In addition, trophies and achievements are now included.
Stepping forward as Studio Head at Nightdive, Stephen Kick expressed: “The original Outlaws paved the way for the First-Person Shooter (FPS) genre. We’re thrilled to introduce this iconic Western experience to a fresh audience.
For the very first time, this game makes its console debut, placing players in the shoes of former Marshal James Anderson. A ruthless land baron is responsible for the devastation of his family, fueling Anderson’s quest for revenge and leading to a brutal series of gunfights. Anticipate an authentic Western narrative intertwined with exhilarating shooting gameplay.
