
City Connection is releasing a new game in the JaJaMaru-kun series called JaJaMaru no Hyakki Yagyou Den to celebrate the franchise’s 40th anniversary. Developed in collaboration with amazing, this hack-and-slash action game, due out in 2026, will have players battling yokai and clearing dungeons using various weapons and skills. The platforms it will be available on haven’t been announced yet.
During today’s celebration of the City Connection’s 20th anniversary, the game’s title and first piece of artwork were revealed. The artwork shows JaJaMaru-kun with a sword, alongside Sakura Hime, Namazu Dayuu, and other beloved and new characters from Japanese folklore.

While details about the upcoming game remain under wraps, Mebius surprised fans today by releasing Ninja JaJaMaru-kun MSX on the Nintendo Switch eShop in Japan. This version is a port of the original Ninja JaJaMaru-kun game, originally released on the MSX, and is available for 1,280 yen.
