Nintendo GameCube Games Get Major Upgrade on Nintendo Switch Online

GameCube games have gotten a boost on the new Nintendo Switch 2 through the Nintendo Switch Online service. When the Switch 2 launched, GameCube games were added as part of the online offering. However, there have been a few issues. The main problem is the limited selection of available GameCube titles. There were also some technical glitches, but Nintendo has been working to fix those behind the scenes. The small game library remains the biggest challenge.

Players with Nintendo Switch Online subscriptions are reporting a significant improvement in input lag for GameCube games on the Nintendo Switch 2. While the problem isn’t completely fixed – The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker still seems to be affected – multiple subscribers on the Reset Era forum and other platforms say that all other GameCube titles are now performing better.

I was reading the comments, and someone pointed something out that I totally agree with! They said if you haven’t played F-Zero GX recently, you should give it another shot. They noticed a big difference right from the start menu. Apparently, any input lag that was there before has been massively reduced – honestly, they can’t even feel it while playing anymore, and neither can I! It’s a really noticeable improvement.

One subscriber reported that all the games are now working correctly, with the possible exception of Wind Waker, which still doesn’t feel quite right. They said all the other games are running perfectly now.

This new feature arrived with the recent Nintendo Switch Online update, but Nintendo hasn’t officially announced it. They’ve been quietly improving their online games all year, so it’s not unexpected. It’s currently unclear if they have any further updates planned.

Since The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, a popular GameCube game, hasn’t received any updates, we can expect further improvements eventually, though that’s not guaranteed. Don’t count on another Nintendo Switch Online update this year, so you might have to wait a while for those potential improvements.

We’d love to hear your thoughts! Please leave a comment or join the discussion on the ComicBook Forum. And if you’re thinking about Nintendo Switch 2, what GameCube game are you most excited to replay?
