A recent leak suggests Nintendo is planning to add two more GameCube games to the Switch 2. Since the Switch 2 launched last year, Nintendo has been gradually bringing GameCube titles to the system through its Nintendo Switch Online service. So far, games like Luigi’s Mansion, Wario World, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, and Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance have been added, with Nintendo promising more to come. This new leak gives us a potential look at what those future GameCube releases might be.
A recent image on Walmart’s website showed several games available through Nintendo Switch Online, and fans noticed something interesting: both Pikmin 2 and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes were included. These games aren’t currently available on the Nintendo Switch Online’s GameCube selection, leading many to believe they’ll be added soon. It appears this promotional image accidentally revealed Nintendo’s plans before an official announcement.
Is This GameCube Leak Legit?

It’s tricky to say how reliable this Nintendo leak actually is. Walmart is a trustworthy source, as they’re an official retailer of Nintendo products. Plus, the leaked image looks a lot like official images Nintendo has released before.
It would be unusual to see Pikmin 2 and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes added to Switch Online. Pikmin 2 is already playable on Switch through the Pikmin 1+2 collection, which includes a remastered version of both games. As for Metroid Prime 2, rumors suggest a remastered version is coming to Switch, making its addition to the Nintendo Switch Online service less exciting.
Rumors suggest that several classic GameCube games could be coming to Nintendo Switch Online, and we might get official confirmation as early as next week. A major Nintendo Direct presentation is expected sometime next week, possibly on February 5th. We’ll be covering the event closely and will share all the important announcements here on ComicBook as soon as they happen.
