A recent leak suggests that two popular Resident Evil games are in development for the new Nintendo Switch 2. Considering the Resident Evil series, which began in 1996, hasn’t always been readily available on Nintendo consoles, this news is exciting for fans. While not entirely unexpected, it wasn’t guaranteed that these particular games would come to the Switch 2.
YouTuber and Nintendo insider Reece Reilly reports that Capcom plans to bring the Resident Evil Remake series to the Nintendo Switch 2. The initial releases will be Resident Evil 4 Remake and Resident Evil 2 Remake, considered the best in the series. While Reilly doesn’t have specific dates, he says the Switch 2 versions won’t arrive until after Capcom finishes promoting Resident Evil Requiem.
Something to Look Forward to After Resident Evil Requiem
According to a source, the Resident Evil Remake series will be coming to the Switch 2. However, Capcom plans to wait until after the release of RE9 before porting the games over.
This report is all the information we have at the moment. Please remember that none of this is official, and it’s subject to change. Capcom hasn’t confirmed or denied this information, which is typical for them. We don’t anticipate an official statement, but we’ll update the story if anything changes.
Potential Release Date
The game Resident Evil Requiem is scheduled to launch on February 27th, and will be available on the Nintendo Switch 2. Capcom plans to focus on releasing and supporting this game throughout 2026, which means other game ports might not be ready until late 2026 or even 2027.
