A game currently only available on Nintendo Switch will be removed from the Nintendo eShop within the next 24 hours. This means fans have a limited time to buy it digitally before it’s no longer available on the platform. While the game is also on PC and still available there, it’s possible it could be removed from PC stores eventually. For now, Steam is the only place to get the game besides owning a physical copy or the Nintendo Switch digital version before it’s removed.
A “console exclusive” game is one that’s available on a specific console, but also on PC. While uncommon for many years, this type of exclusivity is now the most common in gaming. The game we’re discussing is Orebody: Binder’s Tale, released in 2022 by Orebody Inc and published by Nami Tentou. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s a fast-paced, side-scrolling shooter with a retro 8-bit style, similar to classic Mega Man games.
Another Video Game Delisting
Okay, so if you’re hoping to grab this game on the Nintendo Switch, you need to buy it before the end of February – it’s $7.99 right now. It sounds like the people who made the game and the people who published it are splitting up, and they won’t be working together on the Switch version anymore. The good news is it’ll still be available on Steam! They might bring it back to the eShop later if they figure things out with the publishing rights, but there’s no confirmation of that happening right now. I’m a little bummed, but at least it’s not disappearing completely!
Games are being removed from stores more and more often, but this isn’t happening because of licenses running out or servers being shut down. Instead, these removals usually occur when a developer and publisher disagree, or when a publisher decides not to renew a game’s publishing agreement after it ends.
It’s actually good timing that this delisting is happening for the Nintendo Switch, which is performing very well in 2026 even with the new Switch 2 on the market. Many of the year’s best games so far have been exclusive to the Switch. Plus, with recent releases like Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen and upcoming titles such as Planet of Lana II: Children of the Leaf and Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered, Switch owners have a lot of exciting games to enjoy right now.
