In October (3rd), a popular exclusive game for the Nintendo Switch from 2018 will be re-released in a remastered version. This new edition isn’t just for Nintendo Switch users; it’s also coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X platforms. Not only is this revamped version promised to be significantly enhanced, but it also includes an extended gameplay experience compared to the original release on Nintendo Switch and the yet-to-be-released Nintendo Switch 2.
The game in question that’s exclusive to Nintendo Switch is named “Castle of Heart,” and will be re-released on October 3 after a seven-year absence, titled “Castle of Heart: Retold.” If you’re not familiar with “Castle of Heart,” it might be because its reception was less than stellar when it first came out in 2018, as indicated by its Metacritic score in the 50s. Currently, you can find this game on the Nintendo eShop for $14.99 – a price that will also apply to the remastered version upon its release.
About the Game
The “Castle of Heart,” originally known by that name, is an adventure game featuring side-scrolling action. Players assume the role of a knight cursed in lore, on a quest to save a priestess kidnapped by a sorcerer who governs the land with an iron fist. The remastered version offers updated animations, enhanced lighting, refined character models, more intricate surroundings, re-composed music, rebalanced fighting and navigation systems, an upgraded user interface, responsive controls, and smoother gameplay overall. In essence, the remaster represents a comprehensive overhaul of the original game, yet it’s not categorized as a full remake.
The comment on the trailer suggests that although they’re unsure about its origin, they believe a considerable amount of effort has been put into this remaster. Initially expecting a 3D souls-like game, they now find themselves intrigued by the side-scrolling style. The visuals are remarkably impressive.

Seven years have passed since developer 7Levels initially released their game, but they’re back now with a return, surprisingly enough. It’s worth mentioning that game developer 7Levels appears to have made significant progress since the launch of their initial title. Although their latest release in 2024, titled Kong: Survivor, didn’t garner universal acclaim or set the world alight, it has received more favorable user and critical reviews compared to their debut game, Castle of Heart.
