Nintendo Switch Online members on both Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 are in for a treat, especially fans of classic NES games! It’s been 40 years since the original *Super Mario Bros.* first launched – a game many consider one of the greatest of all time. While the game has been available through Nintendo Switch Online for a while, subscribers now have an extra, free bonus related to it.
My Nintendo is offering a free desktop metal display featuring classic *Super Mario Bros.* artwork to both Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 owners. It costs 1,000 Platinum Points, but you’ll need an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription to claim it. Good news – unlike some other Nintendo Switch Online perks, you don’t need the Expansion Pack to get this one!
Nintendo Switch Online Exclusive
Similar to other collectible displays from Nintendo, this one is only available to Nintendo Switch Online members and won’t be sold in stores or released any other way. As you can see in the picture, it’s a metal display set on a stylish black acrylic base with the “My Nintendo” logo subtly etched into it. This particular display features artwork from the classic 1985 NES game.
The metal display included with this offer has a protective film on both sides that you can remove. To do so, gently warm the film with a hair dryer to soften the adhesive, then carefully peel it off. Nintendo mentions the offer is limited to available stock, but hasn’t said how much is available. If you’re interested, you can redeem the offer here.
If you’ve ever felt like you’ve experienced something before while playing a Nintendo game, it’s likely because the company recently re-released a similar product for *Super Mario Bros. 2*. It’s unknown whether Nintendo will do this for all *Super Mario* games to celebrate the series’ anniversary. However, it seems they are planning to bring Nintendo DS games to Nintendo Switch Online soon.
We’d love to hear your thoughts, so please leave a comment! You can also join the discussion in the ComicBook Forum. Do you have fond memories of playing *Super Mario Bros.* on the NES from 40 years ago?
