Nintendo Switch Online members on both the original Switch and the new Switch 2 are getting a free NES game! This offer isn’t just for Switch 2 owners, and you don’t need the more expensive Expansion Pack to claim it – any Nintendo Switch Online subscription will work. It’s available while supplies last, but don’t worry too much if it runs out; similar freebies are usually restocked eventually, though the restocks are often limited and happen randomly.
Nintendo is offering a physical Super Mario Bros. 3 desktop display through its My Nintendo program. For 1000 Platinum Points, you can get a metal display showcasing artwork from the classic NES game. It includes vibrant game art on a metal panel with a sleek black acrylic base and the My Nintendo logo. The metal display itself measures 5 x 7.125 inches and is 1mm thick, while the base is 5 x 1.2 x 0.8 inches.

One of the Best NES Games
If you’ve somehow never played Super Mario Bros. 3, it originally came out in Japan in 1988 and was only available on Nintendo’s NES. It arrived in the West in 1990. Many consider it one of the best video games ever created, and it’s the third best-selling NES game of all time, with over 17 million copies sold. You can even play it today with a Nintendo Switch Online subscription.
I just got this and wanted to share a quick tip! It comes with a protective film on it to keep it safe during shipping, which is great. You can totally leave it on if you want, but if you’d rather remove it, a hair dryer on low heat makes it peel off super easily. Nintendo does warn that the edges can be a little sharp, so be careful! This isn’t the first time they’ve released this, but it is the first restock of the year – 2026, that is. They said there might be more throughout the year, but nothing’s confirmed. Luckily, we did get a few restocks last year, in 2025.
