Nintendo Switch Online Just Added 4 Classic Games at Once

Nintendo Switch Online has added four new retro games for its subscribers. The service has grown a lot since it began, now offering over 300 games! It started with classic NES and SNES titles, but now includes games from Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis, and even GameCube. Nintendo continues to add to the collection, with these four new additions being the latest update.

Nintendo has just added four classic games to its Nintendo Switch Online service: Battletoads and Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos from the NES, and two Game Boy titles. Battletoads and Ninja Gaiden II are both well-known for being challenging action games that have remained popular and influential since their release in the early 1990s.

Nintendo has recently added Bionic Commando and Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters to the Game Boy section of Switch Online. Bionic Commando, developed by Capcom, is an action-platformer based on the original NES game. Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters is the only first-party Nintendo game included in this update and isn’t as well-known as other titles in the Kid Icarus series. However, it’s fantastic to see it added, making the entire series more available to players.

The great thing about these games is that they’re all available to play right now with a Nintendo Switch Online membership. Unlike some releases Nintendo announces beforehand, these titles were added to the service without a prior announcement. So, if you’re a member, you should be able to download and play them immediately.

Nintendo Switch Online costs $19.99 per year and lets you play classic NES, SNES, and Game Boy games. If you want access to even more retro games – including titles from Sega Genesis, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo 64, and GameCube – you can upgrade to the Expansion Pack for $49.99 a year.
