As a dedicated Nintendo gamer, I can’t help but sing praises about my Nintendo Switch Online subscription. It’s not just about playing online with friends in epic battles of Splatoon 3 and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, it’s also about the unique perks that come with it.
For one, I get to flaunt some exclusive profile icons that set me apart from the crowd. Then there’s the Nintendo Music app where I can groove to tunes from my favorite games. But here’s the cherry on top – a vast library of classic games spanning generations, from the good old NES and SNES to the Game Boy and beyond.
And if that wasn’t enough, the service even lets me try out newer games before I decide to make a purchase, giving me a sneak peek into what’s coming next in my gaming adventure. It’s like having a backstage pass to the world of Nintendo!
In a few weeks, Nintendo Switch Online will provide an opportunity for subscribers to try out the upcoming game, “Drag x Drive”, before its official release. Nintendo has scheduled a Global Jam demo event on August 9th and 10th, with three distinct time slots: 3 a.m. to 7 a.m. PT and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. PT on the 9th, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. PT on the 10th. Given that “Drag x Drive” is exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2, only subscribers who own this new system will be able to play the game during this event.

On August 14th, the new game Drag x Drive will hit the market, offering players an excellent opportunity to test it out and determine if it’s their cup of tea. As a fresh intellectual property from Nintendo, there may be some uncertainty among players, especially considering the game’s innovative control system. It remains uncertain whether Switch 2 users will take a liking to Drag x Drive, or if they’ll continue enjoying titles like Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza. The Global Jam event presents an ideal opportunity for Nintendo to sway undecided players.
As an enthusiastic gamer, I was thrilled when Drag x Drive, one of the early reveals for the upcoming Switch 2, made its debut during April’s Nintendo Direct. The game appears to draw inspiration from wheelchair basketball and offers a unique control scheme – players use two Joy-Con controllers in mouse mode, with each one controlling a wheel. Earlier this year, I had the privilege of trying out Drag x Drive, but it remains somewhat challenging to fully grasp the game’s potential. The innovative use of the mouse feature is intriguing, yet after prolonged play, my arms felt quite fatigued. It’s also hard to predict the depth of content that will be available in the final product.
Previously, Nintendo has showcased demos for new intellectual properties much like they’re doing with “Drag x Drive”. They’ve done this before with games such as Splatoon and ARMS. It’s exciting that this tradition continues, leaving us curious about how the users of Switch 2 will respond to the game once the demo session concludes. While Drag x Drive might not be as highly anticipated as some other big Switch 2 games right now, there’s a chance its appeal could grow as more players get a taste of what it offers.
