Nioh 3 Dev Shares How Full PS5 Title Will Play Even Better Than the Demo

Team Ninja has shared insights from the feedback collected during the latest Nioh 3 demo on PlayStation 5. Their post includes their conclusions and key takeaways based on the responses they received. To sum it up, the demo was highly appreciated, with an overall approval rating of 90.9%. Furthermore, every question posed to the developer was met with positive feedback.

Approximately 62.7% of demo players found the graphics in the Alpha Demo satisfactory, while around 80.5% and 80.1% respectively enjoyed the Samurai and Ninja combat styles. The rating for difficulty was more mixed; about half (56%) felt it was appropriately challenging, but a third (33%) considered the demo to be difficult.

Based on the feedback it’s received, Team Ninja plans to address the following things:

  • Improve controls in response to high demand from players.
  • Improve problem areas in control responsiveness.
  • Make controls more customizable by adding options.
  • Adjust gimmicks and enemies that were unreasonably difficult.
  • Add and improve tutorial visibility.
  • Adjust the performance and balance of various actions.
  • Improve the overall quality of background graphics.
  • Improve the visibility and balance of stages and the open field, and make exploration elements easier to understand and more well-balanced.
  • Make notifications and other elements that appear on screen during combat less distracting, and make it possible to dismiss such notifications via button/key input.
  • Improve the balance of progression elements.
  • Improve the quality of multiplayer mode.

In the time leading up to its release, aspects such as player control mechanics, visual style transitions, special abilities, enemy encounters, level layouts, and tutorial guidance are all set for enhancements. For a comprehensive look at all the planned improvements, you can find them detailed in the provided link.

The developer shared that they will strive to utilize these surveys effectively, aiming to implement adjustments and enhancements across the board. This way, everyone can maximize their enjoyment when the final version of Nioh 3, set for release on PS5 and PC in early 2026, becomes available. Unlike other games in the series, Nioh 3 will adopt a more expansive zone design rather than fully immersing players within an open world environment.
