In Nioh 3, souls are key to improving your character’s strength and leveling up. Spending time early in the game to collect souls can make boss fights much easier and significantly enhance your overall experience.
This guide for Nioh 3 is all about earning souls as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Repsawn Point Reset
The easiest way to collect souls is to repeatedly defeat enemies near a Respawn point. Plan a quick route that covers as many enemies as possible, then use fast travel to return to the Respawn point and reset them, allowing you to fight them again and again.
Battle Scroll
As you progress, you can repeat some side missions as many times as you like using the Battle Scroll. You don’t need to defeat bosses to collect the souls you’re after, but doing so will give you a large extra reward if you can beat them quickly.
To start a new attempt, quickly travel back to the beginning of the Battle Scroll. You might only need to defeat the first strong enemy you find, instead of fighting through all the weaker ones.
Equipment Bonuses
Don’t get rid of any gear that boosts your soul gains! Save it for dedicated soul farming sessions. Look for items with effects labeled ‘Souls Earned’ or ‘Gain Souls’ – these will show either a percentage increase or a fixed bonus to the amount of souls you collect.
Trade
Exchange any equipment you don’t need for souls. You’ll find lots of new weapons and armor, but you’ll quickly outgrow them, so keep trading your old items to earn more souls.
Items with higher Familiarity will earn more souls as well.
Enable Item Auto Pick-Up to collect loot automatically, which will save you time and reduce button-mashing.
Skill Bonuses
Okay, so I found this awesome skill called ‘Vital Spirit’ that gives you extra souls just for beating up enemies – it’s a 4% boost, which is pretty sweet! You can snag it from a chest on top of a wooden lookout tower near the Enemy Base. That base is north of where you respawn at Prospect Hill. Once you’ve got it, just fast travel back to any respawn point and learn it through the Skill Management menu. Definitely worth the trip!
Clan Pledge Bonuses
If you get a chance to pledge loyalty to a clan, the Toyotomi clan is a great choice. They give you a 5% bonus to all the souls you earn, which really adds up when you’re focusing on getting souls through farming.
Do Not Hoard souls
Don’t worry about saving your souls! The game lets you reset your upgrades for free with the Reset button when you level up, so feel free to spend them whenever you can. Holding onto too many souls is risky because you’ll lose them if you die, and trying to get them back could lead to dying again to the same enemy.
Those are all the tips and tricks you can use to farm souls and level up quickly in Nioh 3.
