Nioh 3 has been a success since its release, receiving positive reviews and selling over 700,000 copies in its first four days on PlayStation 5 and PC. According to Alinea Analytics, this generated over $50 million in revenue. The majority of those sales – 56.1 percent – came from Steam, with the remaining 43.9 percent from PS5.
China has the largest player base on both platforms, accounting for 48.7 percent of all players. When you include players from Japan and Taiwan, that number jumps to almost two-thirds. A significant majority of players who enjoyed the first Nioh game returned for the sequel, with 66.6 percent playing on Steam and 69 percent on PlayStation.
Most players who tried Nioh 3 had also played Elden Ring – over 80 percent, in fact. A large portion of Black Myth: Wukong fans also had experience with Game Science’s action RPG, with around 71 percent having played it on Steam.
Initial sales are better than the first Nioh game, which sold over a million copies in its first two weeks. However, sales aren’t as high as Nioh 2, which reached the same number in just two days – and that was before the PC version was released. The $70 price tag might have played a role, but these numbers are just estimates. Koei Tecmo hasn’t shared official sales figures yet.
