Nippon Ichi Software has revealed the official name and release date for their previously announced action RPG, now known as *Kyouran Makaism*. The game, formerly known as *Kyouran*, will be available in Japan for PlayStation 5, the new Switch 2 console, and the original Switch on January 29, 2026.

Okay, so I just heard about this new game, Kyouran Makaism, and it sounds awesome! It’s a 3D action RPG, and the people making it are seriously talented – Shunsuke Minowa is directing, Takehito Harada is doing the character designs, and Tenpei Sato is composing the music. Basically, it’s a dream team working on this, and I’m already hyped!
As a gamer, I’m super excited about this game! It’s all about feeling awesome while taking down enemies with crazy, unconventional power. The controls are easy to pick up, but you can really get into it by leveling up your characters all the way to 9,999 and then ‘reincarnate’ them to become even stronger. You’ll be building up insane stats that let you dish out damage numbers in the *billions* – it sounds incredible!
Story
This is the vast Netherworld, where countless demons vie for supremacy.
In one of the numerous realms of the Netherworld, a seasoned mercenary named Nueur is called upon by Tisiel, the most powerful ruler of that world, who asks him to do something completely unexpected.
“Someone ate the pudding from the refrigerator!”
“I see… wait, the what from the refrigerator?”
The pudding, called First Radiance, was made by Tisiel’s late father, who used to be a powerful leader. One of his followers ate it and then started a revolt, and now Tisiel wants the pudding returned.
And so, the quest to get back the First Radiance Pudding starts, with a single mercenary and a brand-new overlord taking the lead…!

Neuer, the Protagonist
He’s a highly experienced fighter, proficient with both weapons and magic. However, he lacks any personal ambitions, fighting only to get by. Completely self-reliant and without family, he’s known for his detached demeanor and struggles to connect with others on an emotional level, showing no understanding of love or friendship.
Tisiel, the Sheltered Princess Who Loves Pudding
She recently became ruler of the Netherworld after her highly respected father passed away. As one of her first acts, she called upon Neuer, who had been a close companion to her father, to join her in the Netherworld.

Kyouran Makaism is a fast-paced action RPG that lets you feel incredibly powerful. It’s easy to learn, with simple controls that allow you to quickly defeat enemies using spectacular moves.
Neuer fights with seven different weapons – like swords, bows, and spears – each with unique attack ranges and moves. He cuts a path through enemies on the battlefield, taking down waves of both small and large foes. Each weapon also has up to four special attacks, letting you use a wide range of skills to defeat everything in your path.

There are many different skills you can use, some that can hit multiple enemies at once, and others that act as a perfect defense if used at the right moment.
■ Versatile Gameplay: Fight Using Seven Weapons with Unique Characteristics
Neuer can use seven different weapons – fists, swords, spears, axes, bows, guns, and staffs – and each one has a unique way of attacking. Learning what each weapon does best and using it effectively will make you much more versatile in battle. For example, swords are balanced and easy to handle, bows let you attack from far away with focused shots, though they aren’t the strongest, and staffs allow you to cast magic.
Even basic moves have different options, like charges and combos, letting you combine them to create a wide range of unique attacks.
The bow excels at attacking from a distance, but struggles in close-up fights. Use it strategically based on the situation and how you like to play.
■ Over-Leveling: Pulverize Enemies in One Hit with Ultra-Powerful Characters
Even players who aren’t skilled at action games can easily defeat enemies in *Kyouran Makism* by simply leveling up their characters to become incredibly powerful.
Characters can be leveled up to an incredible level 9,999! This game features the deep and rewarding completionist elements Nippon Ichi Software is known for, including the “Reincarnation” system which resets a character to level 1 with improved stats, customizable “Evilities” that provide unique benefits, “Chara Worlds” where you can boost a character from within, and “Innocents” – attachments that enhance equipment. Get ready for fast-paced battles and the thrill of defeating enemies with incredibly powerful characters!
■ Transform Captured Monsters into Weapons
You can capture monsters in battle and use them as “Familiars” to fight with you. These Familiars aren’t just strong allies – they can also boost your stats with their unique abilities and even transform into weapons you can use.
A Prinny companion can transform into a sword. If you’re already using a different weapon, you can choose between your regular one and the sword form of the Prinny.
—During a Magichange, you can use unique “Magichange Skills.”
You can make your monsters even stronger using the “Breeder” facility at your base. Raise powerful familiars with special abilities!
