Expedition 17 Redux: Titan is a time-limited Expedition in No Man’s Sky.
You can earn the unique ship, The Wraith, by completing this Expedition – but hurry, it’s only available until December 2nd, 2025! The Wraith has a striking, organic design, appearing almost like a living alien creature you can pilot.
In this guide, we’ll help you complete every step of this Expedition as fast as possible.
Expedition 17 Redux: Titan Guide | No Man’s Sky
Starting Up

Okay, so just like with other Expeditions, there are a couple of ways to kick this one off. You can either start a brand new game in Expedition mode, or you can jump into the Space Anomaly if you’re already playing a normal save. Either way works!
Okay, so like with the last big Expedition, I really recommend starting with a save file you already have. It’s super helpful because you can stash stuff in the Space Anomaly and then grab it later during the Expedition, which saves a ton of time and effort. Seriously, it makes things so much smoother!
On that note, here’s the shopping list of everything we recommend bringing:
- Condensed Carbon x120
- Chromatic Metal x25
- Paraffinium x100
- Dough x1
- Nutrient Processor
- Nutrient Ingestor
- Pressure Membrane
- Aqua-Jets Module
Hey, don’t stress if you can’t gather everything before you go! Seriously, just bring what you can – every little bit helps. And if you’re short on anything, no worries, you can usually pick up extra resources at Space Stations along the way.
Don’t worry if you miss something – we’ll explain how to obtain all items during the Expedition itself. You’ll have a chance to get anything you’re lacking later on.

Okay, so don’t forget to grab those Milestone rewards as you finish them during the Expedition! Seriously, they’re super important because they give you the stuff you need – resources and unlocks – to keep going and actually progress. I always make it a habit to check them right after completing a Milestone.
You can also use the Refiner to gather resources when you need them. And, it’s best not to install Modules unless you’ll actually use them – you can always sell unwanted ones for Nanites.
Finally, this guide aims to help you complete the Expedition as efficiently as possible! Keep in mind that, because it’s quite lengthy, it will likely still take around 2 hours, at the very least.
Keeping that in mind, we also need to avoid getting into every detail, or this guide would become much too lengthy!
Nonetheless, without further ado, let’s get into the step-by-step process for the Expedition.
The First Steps

When you begin the Expedition, you’ll find yourself on a planet. Your first task will be to collect the resources needed to travel to another system.
- Oxygen x30 – Mainly obtained from plants.
- Ferrite Dust x150 – Mined from rocks.
- Condensed Carbon x60 – Mined from crystal minerals.

While collecting resources, be sure to explore the planet and find 5 Storm Crystals. You can see what they look like in the image above. Collecting these 5 crystals will complete the “Bottled Lightning” milestone.

I just hit a Milestone and got some awesome goodies! I’m so excited to get my hands on a Pre-Packaged Haz-Mat Gauntlet and a Pre-Packaged Advanced Mining Laser. I’m installing them right away – they look super useful!

Next, search the planet for Crystallised Helium Deposits. Keep mining them until you’ve collected 192 Crystallised Helium – you’ll need that to reach the “Hazardous Materials” milestone.

After finishing that step, head to the location shown on your screen to get to your Starship and finish the “Escape from Titan” goal. Collect your rewards, then install the Pre-Packaged Personal Refiner you earned.
Now would be a good time to finish the “Winds of Change” milestone, as it’s a little different from the others.
Winds of Change

For this step, your task is to locate a tornado. You can create one yourself by turning off multiplayer options in the Network Settings.
Next, get in and out of your Starship to create a save point. Then, load that save, and a tornado should appear nearby.
Once it does, just walk up to the tornado and let it sweep you away to complete this milestone!
The Many Moon Landings

Next, craft one Metal Plating and one Hermetic Seal in your inventory. After that, refine 50 Ferrite Dust into 50 Pure Ferrite. Finally, use the Pure Ferrite to repair your Starship’s Launch Thruster and Pulse Engine.
Once your Starship is ready, board it and launch into space to escape the planet. This will finish the “Ignition” milestone!
Once you’re able to fly in space, destroy 30 asteroids to finish the “Stone and Fire” milestone. Then, collect the blueprints as your reward.

Next, you’ll need to travel to every moon in this star system. The simplest way to do that is to open the ‘Discoveries’ menu and select any moons you haven’t been to yet. Once you’ve marked them, you can follow those markers directly to each moon.
To leave your Starship, you’ll need to land on a moon. While you’re there, be sure to look for plants and animals! You need to find 4 different types of plants for the “Biosphere” goal, and 6 different types of animals for “Divergent Revolution.”
If you haven’t already collected 100 Paraffinium, you can mine it now. It’s readily available on the Misty Moon of Tiriap Prime.
Simply keep exploring the moons until you’ve visited all five to finish the “Children of Giants” milestone.
Space Station Time

Now, head to the closest Space Station! Get ready to trade and barter while you’re among the stars.
First, head to the Trade Terminal in the Space Station and sell all 5 of your Storm Crystals. After that, you’ll need to purchase these resources:
- From The Trade Terminal
- Metal Platings x7
- Tritium – As much as possible.
- Ferrite Dust – As much as possible.
- Cobalt – As much as possible.
- From Traders at the Landing
- Magnetic Resonators x3
- Chromatic Metal – As much as possible.
If you began the Expedition without any supplies, be sure to purchase 2 Microprocessors and all the Salt currently available at the Trade Terminal.

Okay, so I just finished that up, and now I need to remember to install the Launch Auto-Charger on my Starship. I actually unlocked it by hitting some of those earlier milestones, so it’s already in my inventory – good to go!
Next, head to the Technology Merchant on the Space Station. Sell your Movement Module and Teleport Receiver Unit there, and then buy two Hyperdrive Modules. Finally, make sure to install the Hyperdrive Modules.
Finally, build one Antimatter Housing and one Antimatter. Then, combine those to create a Warp Cell and use it to recharge your Starship’s Hyperdrive.
Never Look Back

You’re now ready to begin your journey! To leave the starting system, open the Expedition menu and select the “Rendezvous 1” milestone. Then, use your Galaxy Map to warp to the system that’s been marked.
Okay, so I just warped, and that automatically finished the “Never Look Back” milestone! That got me 3 Warp Cells, which is awesome because, if I followed the guide and installed those Hyperdrive Modules, that should be exactly what I need to complete the whole Expedition. Fingers crossed!

You can now call and visit the Space Anomaly! If you left any resources stored there previously, be sure to check the terminal to get them back.

With that done, continue following the “Rendezvous 1” milestone marker in-game.

While you’re on the planet, don’t forget to use Photo Mode to capture a picture of the landscape and finish the “The Chronicle: 1” milestone.

With a bit of luck, completing that milestone should reward you with an S-Class Scanner Module that also helps with Fauna Analysis.

Install the module, then scan a large creature on the planet to finish the “Genetic Currency” milestone.

Finally, you need to locate and scan the “Reliquary” milestone to identify the Fossil Beds on this planet. Once you find them, mine them to collect 4 Ancient Bones and finish the milestone.
Okay, so now I’m going to talk about getting a ton of resources. If you were smart and followed my advice in the ‘Starting Up’ section and gathered everything I suggested, you can totally skip ahead! But if you didn’t, keep reading – this is where I’ll tell you how to get everything you need.
Resource Gathering Time

If you haven’t left the planet from “Rendezvous 1” yet, be sure to gather these resources:
- Mordite x153 – Mainly obtained from fauna. Process it into 51 Faecium using the Personal Refiner.
- Oxygen x150 – Mainly obtained from plants.
- Condensed Carbon x210 – Mined from crystal minerals.
- Heptaploid Wheat x1 – Harvest from a wild plant.
After completing those steps, process Sodium Nitrate to obtain 25 Sodium. Next, create 1 Hermetic Seal.

You’ve finished exploring this planet, so now you can travel to the Onfran High Energy Moon! Luckily, it’s in the same star system, so you don’t need to use warp drive – you can go directly there.
On the moon, you’ll need to gather the following resources:
- Gamma Weeds x400 – Found as a plant on the moon’s surface.
- Crystal Sulphides x4 – Found underwater, look for any water body near you.
- Cyto-Phosphate x80 – Found underwater, as before.

Now, create 1 Lubricant using the Gamma Weeds you collected. Next, build a Nutrient Processor and use it to produce 1 Wild Yeast from Faecium and 1 Flour from Heptaploid Wheat. Finally, combine the Wild Yeast and Flour in the Nutrient Processor to make 1 Dough.
You’re now at the same level of progress as players who completed the initial setup!
Meals and Rendezvous 2

Now, use the Nutrient Processor to turn the Dough into 1 Bread. This will finish the “Field Logistics” milestone.

Next, to achieve your food-related objectives, install a Nutrient Ingestor. This will finish the “Meal in a Can” milestone.
Now, install the Aqua-Jets Module. This will finish the “By Sky and Sea” milestone and reward you with a free Nautilon Platform.

Now that’s done, you can begin tracking the “Rendezvous 2” milestone. Like the last Rendezvous, simply follow the marker that indicates its location. Travel to the marked system, then visit the specific planet and location to finish it.
Okay, so I just found out that if I grab the rewards from that milestone, I’ll get the blueprint for a Pressure Membrane! Then, I need to actually install that Membrane to fully finish the “Under Pressure” milestone. Got it – time to get building!
Then, take a photo while on the planet’s surface to complete “The Chronicle: 2“ too.
Deep Sea Adventures

While you’re still on the planet’s surface, deploy the Nautilon Platform you previously obtained to create a Nautilon. After the Nautilon appears, dismantle the Platform to reclaim its materials – you’ll need it again later on.
Okay, so I just installed the High Power Sonar – I got it as a reward from the “Under Pressure” milestone, and it’s going on my Nautilon. Now I’m using that sonar from the Nautilon to try and find those crashed freighters. Hopefully, this helps me locate them!

Next, head back to your Starship and fly to the location marked “Sunken Wreck Detected.” When you arrive, deploy the Nautilon Platform once more to summon the Nautilon.

Okay, so I’m heading down in the Nautilon towards that Sunken Wreck marker. I’m really hoping to unlock the “Crush Zone” milestone while I’m at it – apparently, I just need to get over 1,001 units below the surface to get it! Wish me luck!

Once you find the Sunken Wreck, use the freighter’s main computer to finish the “Fathoms Below” milestone.

Okay, so when I’m exploring the deep sea, I need to keep an eye out for these cool, purple glowing patches! Apparently, if I collect three pieces of Sea Glass from them, I’ll finish up the ‘Hazard Pay’ milestone. Sounds like a fun little side quest!
Finally, to finish, record five different animals that live in the water to complete the “Teeming With Life” milestone.
Rendezvous 3

Now that you’ve finished exploring underwater, find and complete the “Rendezvous 3” milestone by following its marker. It’s the same process as before!
Just a friendly reminder – don’t forget to snap a picture while you’re on the planet’s surface! It’s needed to finish “The Chronicle: 3”, and I wouldn’t want you to miss out!

Okay, so after finishing up whatever I was doing, I needed to make four Ion Batteries and then build a Colossus Geobay. Once I did that, I summoned the Colossus and took it for a spin – and just like that, I unlocked the “Wheels of Titan” milestone! Pretty straightforward, actually.
Okay, so I just finished that, and now I need to turn 120 Condensed Carbon into 240 Carbon. I’m doing that now because I have a feeling I’ll need it pretty soon!

Now, let’s focus on the “No Place Like Home” milestone. To complete this, you need to establish a base on the planet, and at the very least, you’ll need to gather these items:
- Base Computer x1
- Timber Floor Panels x3
- Timber Walls x7
- Rounded Timber Roofs x3
- Timber Rectangular Door x1
Once you complete the base and “No Place Like Home”, you’re all done with this system!
Rendezvous 4 and Rendezvous 5

As before, you want to track the “Rendezvous 4” milestone and follow it to the marked system.
When you arrive, head to the Outlaw Station and speak with the Salvage Dealer. Sell any modules you haven’t installed, and you’ll earn the 5000 Nanites needed to finish the “Quantum Bedrock” milestone.

Now that’s done, head to the planet and spot labeled “Rendezvous 4.” While you’re there, take a picture on the surface to finish “The Chronicle: 4.”

Then, navigate to the Discoveries tab in the game menu. Choose any discovery you can rename and change its name – this will unlock the “Legacy” milestone.
Next, locate and follow the marker for “Rendezvous 5” as you normally would. Then, take a photo on the planet’s surface to finish “The Chronicle: 5.”

You’re almost there! The only remaining milestone is “Surveyor of Worlds.” To complete it, simply walk a total of 7000 units – that’s it! This will unlock the final milestone and finish everything up.
Finishing Up and Claiming Rewards

Now, simply go back to the Space Anomaly and use the Expedition Terminal. If you began the expedition using a save file, you’ll be able to choose which items and progress to transfer to your regular game.
Items you don’t store will be automatically transformed into either Units or Nanites, based on the item type.
If you began the Expedition with a fresh save file, completing it will simply change your save into a standard one. This means you’ll be able to keep all the progress and items you’ve earned!

With the Expedition now finished, you can head to the Space Anomaly and chat with the Quicksilver Synthesis Companion to get your rewards at any time.
That wraps up our complete guide for Expedition 17 Redux: Titan in No Man’s Sky! We hope it helps you finish the expedition efficiently.
