No One Noticed Intergalactic’s Hidden Naughty Dog Easter Egg

I’m so excited about Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet! Tati Gabrielle just shared something amazing – her character’s name actually has a hidden nod to Naughty Dog, the game developers, and nobody even caught it! It’s wild to think such a small detail went unnoticed for so long.

During an interview with JeuxActu about the Mortal Kombat 2 film—a portion of which was shared on X (formerly Twitter)—actress Jessica McNamee was asked if her character’s name, Jordan A. Mun, was a nod to the “moon.”

She explained that the name is traditionally Korean, reflecting the character Jordan’s mixed heritage, just like the actress who plays her.

But there’s a secret Easter egg hidden in the initials, too:

Jordan’s initials, J-A-M, are a nod to the founding members of the game company Naughty Dog.

The Sony studio actually started as JAM Software, a name created from the first names of its three founders: Jason Rubin, Andy Gavin, and Mike Goyet.

The team initially created the Apple II adventure game, originally called Keef the Thief. However, after a disagreement with their publisher, Baudville, they changed their studio name to Naughty Dog.

The team later created the SEGA Genesis RPG Rings of Power and the poorly received Way of the Warrior, a game that tried to imitate Mortal Kombat. Their big success came with Crash Bandicoot on the PlayStation 1.

We didn’t realize ‘Jordan A. Mun’ was a reference to Naughty Dog’s previous company, JAM Software, but it’s great how they like to include these small, hidden details in their games.

We’re excited to see what hidden references and details will appear in Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, and we expect to find nods to games like The Last of Us and Uncharted somewhere within it.
