Normal People Finds New Streaming Home: Catch the BAFTA-Winning Drama on Disney+

The popular TV series, “Normal People,” which catapulted the careers of Daisy Edgar-Jones and Paul Mescal, has found a new platform for viewing.

In its debut, the 2020 series, adapted from Sally Rooney’s novel, achieved worldwide acclaim. Viewers were captivated by the intricate romantic tale involving Connell Waldron (portrayed by Mescal) and Marianne Sheridan (played by Edgar-Jones), causing them to become enamored from the very start.

Following its initial debut on BBC iPlayer in the UK, the program has since found a new residence and is no longer accessible on the free streaming platform.

Now, you can watch on Disney+, with all six episodes available to stream.

Over the span of more than ten years, Normal People unfolds the story of Connell and Marianne, beginning with them as teenagers in high school. Connell is a well-liked student, while his mother works for the affluent family who live at a social remove from Marianne.

Yet, when they meet again at college, both individuals have seen a shift in their social status and self-assurance, but their unbreakable bond persists.

In their constant coming and going, the series garnered acclaim for its candid exploration of male mental health, sexual encounters, and the intricate issues stemming from ‘casual friendships’.

Ever since their appearance in the show, both Mescal and Edgar-Jones have gained significant popularity, leading them to be sought-after talents. Notably, Mescal is replacing Russell Crowe in Gladiator II and will portray Paul McCartney in an upcoming Beatles biographical series.

In the previous summer blockbuster Twisters 2 (released last year), and the 2022 film adaption of Where the Crawdads Sing, Edgar-Jones made an appearance.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that she will headline the principal cast in a fresh adaptation of Jane Austen’s timeless classic, Sense and Sensibility.
