Bob Odenkirk proved his acting talent playing a shady lawyer in both “Breaking Bad” and its spin-off, “Better Call Saul,” so it seemed likely he’d move into movies. However, few anticipated he’d become an action hero, especially with the success of the violent and well-received film, “Nobody,” and its recent sequel. Now, he’s back with another action-packed role in the trailer for his new film, “Normal.”
I recently saw this really interesting film where Bob Odenkirk plays Ulysses, a guy who rolls into this quiet little town called Normal to fill in as sheriff after the previous one passes away. It seems peaceful at first, but then a bank robbery happens, and Ulysses quickly discovers that Normal isn’t so normal after all – there’s a whole hidden criminal network running underneath everything! It’s a cool setup, and Odenkirk is fantastic.
The film stars Henry Winkler, Lena Headey, Ryan Allen, Billy MacLellan, Brendan Fletcher, Peter Shinkoda, and Jess McLeod. Ben Wheatley, known for directing films like “The Meg 2” and “Free Fire,” directed the movie, and Derek Kolstad, the writer of “John Wick” and “Nobody,” wrote the screenplay. Kolstad and Bob Odenkirk co-created the story and also served as producers. The film debuted at the Toronto Film Festival, where it received generally positive reviews.
It opens in the US in April 2026 so a UK release date is likely to be around the same time
