The Normal trailer is anything but!
After impressing audiences with his portrayal of a morally ambiguous lawyer in both Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, it seemed inevitable Bob Odenkirk would move into films. However, few anticipated he’d become an action hero, especially with the success of the surprisingly violent and well-received ‘Nobody’ and its recent sequel. Now, he’s back with another action-packed role in the newly released trailer for ‘Normal.’
Bob Odenkirk stars as Ulysses, a new sheriff who arrives in the quiet town of Normal after the previous sheriff dies. When a bank is robbed, Ulysses discovers a hidden criminal network operating throughout the entire community.
So what can we expect from the Normal trailer?
I’m really excited about this new film! The cast is fantastic – Henry Winkler, Lena Headey, Ryan Allen, Billy MacLellan, Brendan Fletcher, Peter Shinkoda, and Jess McLeod are all in it. What especially got my attention is that Ben Wheatley, who directed ‘The Meg 2’ and the really intense ‘Free Fire,’ is directing. Knowing his style, we’re probably in for a wild ride! Plus, Derek Kolstad, the writer behind ‘John Wick’ and ‘Nobody,’ wrote the script – so expect some seriously brutal action. Apparently, he actually co-created the story with Odenkirk, and they’re both producing too. It’s interesting to note this is the third movie Odenkirk has filmed in Winnipeg in the last five years! The film actually premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and got some pretty good buzz.
It opens in the US on 17th April 2026 and in the UK on15th May 2026
